Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of the AI receptionist services (the “Service”) provided by Verata Group, LLC (“Verata,” “we,” “us”) to business customers (“you,” “Client”). By starting a trial or subscription, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Verata provides AI-powered voice and/or chat receptionist services that answer inquiries, capture lead information, and schedule appointments on your behalf, according to the configuration you approve during setup. Plan features and usage allowances are described on our pricing page.

2. Free trial

New Clients receive a 14-day free trial. No payment method is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, service continues only if you choose a paid plan — we don't auto-charge you for a trial you never converted.

3. Money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied within 30 days of your first paid charge, tell us and we will refund that charge in full. The guarantee applies once per Client, to the first paid month only.

4. Billing and cancellation

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically.
  • There are no long-term contracts. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period.
  • Cancellation is available by a single email or the cancellation link we provide — no retention calls required.
  • Usage beyond your plan's allowances may require moving to a higher tier; we will notify you before any change to your billing.

5. Your responsibilities

The receptionist answers using information you provide — services offered, service area, hours, scheduling rules, and any pricing guidance. You are responsible for keeping that information accurate. Statements made by your receptionist, including pricing and availability, are subject to confirmation by your business — final quotes and commitments to your customers are yours. You agree to use the Service in compliance with applicable law, including telemarketing and call-recording laws in your state.

6. Emergencies

The Service is not an emergency service. It is configured to escalate apparent emergencies to your designated contact and to direct callers to 911 or utility emergency lines where appropriate, but you acknowledge it is a receptionist service, not a life-safety system. See our AI & Call Recording Disclosure.

7. Your data

You own your data. Call recordings, transcripts, lead details, and appointment records generated for your business belong to you. We use them to provide and improve your service, and you may export them or request deletion when your subscription ends. See our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verata's total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the claim. Verata is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost business, or missed opportunities, even if advised of the possibility. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-service notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
